I’ve consistently had a passion for creating. Since I was a little girl, whether it was crafting, cooking, crocheting, or anything else that I could get my hands on, it was all game. Any time I saw something that I loved or wanted, my first thought was always “how do I make this?”, and then my brain would work out the rest. I have spent most of my career in the creative world, more specifically, in Marketing and Project Management for a couple of big brands and agencies. I always enjoyed my time at each company, but couldn’t escape a sense of unfulfillment, which finally lead me to leave my last job and travel the world for six months.

Traveling the world has opened my eyes to the incredible diversity of peoples, cultures, tastes, sounds, and experiences. My journeys since have inspired me to bring this intimate, multidimensional perspective to my work. I wasn’t sure where my path would lead me next, but what was consistent, and what I did know, was that I love children and have always felt closely connected to them. I don’t have any kids of my own, but I am fortunate enough to have been surrounded by, and have worked with, lovely little humans all my life. I always knew that one day I would be doing something inspired by children and more specifically, for them. And I’ve never been more motivated to do so than now.

Earlier this year, my oldest sister passed away and left behind three beautiful children, my two nephews and my little niece. I’ve struggled at times thinking about how I can show these kids how much I love and care for them. I have felt even more responsible for their well-being now that my sister is gone. While I was busy thinking about how to teach these kids about life, they taught me. They reminded me what life is all about and so much more.

Kids are sponges soaking up everything they see, hear, taste, and feel. They learn by doing, and they become what they believe. Inspired by little humans, I’ve collaborated with my incredibly talented cousin, Ayako, to bring our passion project, Ezra Zayn, to life. We are passionate about designing products for children with the intention to spark their curious minds and adventurous spirits, foster their gentle souls, and remind them of their fearless natures. Wherever this path may take us, we’re hoping to inspire little humans along the way.
